Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer is an integral part of the national sales team and will provide pre/post-sales technical support to target channels and customers, functioning as a technical liaison for partners and customers.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include presales technical expertise to the national sales team and channels, including technical presentations, demonstrations, technical training, application/network design, sales calls, and other related activities
  • The SE will support sales call activities as a consultative subject matter expert and function as primary technical liaison to drive closing of deals, customer upgrades/ migrations and resolution for existing customer issues as warranted
  • Technical review of solutions and proposals for accuracy and fit for customer needs
  • The SE will collaborate with engineering, service delivery, and operations teams to resolve situations on the customer’s/channel’s behalf when necessary, and will provide direct input on product challenges and enhancements to Product Management
  • SE will also assist in new product roll-out, field beta trials, site survey and installation support when necessary, and other projects as identified, including hosting webinars or Sales training events

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skill and attention to detail
  • Quick learner with self initiative and pride in end results
  • Knowledge of VoIP (Hosted and Trunking), SD-WAN/MPLS, security
  • Ability to work independently on numerous activities and prioritize them properly while meeting deadlines but with cross-functional respect to ensure successful design and implementation
  • Solid knowledge of PC based software and corresponding applications used in assigned areas
  • Customer service oriented
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience, certifications, or training
  • 3+ years of related experience required
